THE PINK TURTLE STORY

Some 4,500 years ago local Chinese personality Hsia Yu was on the edge of the flooding Lo River in China when a turtle emerged from the water. As the turtle approached, the wet color of her shell highlighted unique patterning. Three squares in one direction and three in the other. On further observation there appeared to be numbers in each section and regardless of whether Hsia Yu summed up a row or a column the sum of the three squares was always adding to fifteen.

Writing this down it went on to become known as the Lo Shu, an ancient method of Chinese divination still used to this very day.

The very spirit of Pink Turtle lies with Hsia Yu’s turtle in an epoch when there was time for the pursuit of the refined qualities of life, including matters philosophical and mystical.
