ROLL UPS - ART MATS Art mats allow you to enjoy the pleasure of having one of our fantastic theme designed boards at a budget price. They are an excellent travelling chess board, easily rolled, folded, creased and crumpled and if need be, ironed flat for the next game. Within this selection we have our basic small and large and then our deluxe roll-up. The Basics The “basics” is printed both sides, the smooth playing surface with your design and then on the opposite side is a small excerpt from the PT Story, how the mat is made and then how to manage at the end of your use. The “basic” is often a board of choice for schools and for multiple orders on this product in excess of 20 units at no extra costs we offer an optional overprint service to imprint for example, “This board is the property of Hillsview High” at the rear of the board. This assists in identifying school property and is only available for the “basic” model.
The Deluxe As a stepping stone from the low costs functionality of the “basics” the deluxe allows you to enjoy a good price with a smooth playing surface, felt backing and sewn overlocked edges. The quality of art reproduction on this board gives you a premium product at a great price.
Care Instructions: All art mat products may be machine washed in warm soapy water on gentle cycle, air dried and then ironed with a warm iron if needed. A health and environmental note from PT: We created this product in response to well established concerns around the use of PVC, a material often used in producing similar budget priced chess boards. It is well established that many PVC materials contain phthalates and off course the vinyl chloride monomer itself. Both chemicals are implicated as carcinogens and are prudentially avoided if possible. Additionally the disposal process of incineration of PVC in waste creates dioxins which have a wide variety of health effects. Choosing a non PVC chess board is better for yours and the health of the environment.
